im Boutique is extremely proud to announce the opening of a new glamorous im concept boutique at Westfield Sydney.
To celebrate, im welcomes the hottest lingerie collaboration the corsetry world has seen in decades. Renowned French fashion designer, Jean-Paul Gaultier has joined creative forces to design an haute couture capsule collection for La Perla and this is available exclusively in Australia at selected im boutiques from November 2010.
This sensational collection combines two ingrained couture approaches: the "soutache" which is one of La Perla's hallmarks, a sophisticated technique for creating motifs in silk braid on tulle, and the star-shaped backstitches on satin for garments that delineate those silhouettes so dear to Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Each model is a celebration of the female body: from the corset waistcincher to the slip that follows the curves of the body, from the extra-high briefs that hug the hips to the triangle bra which highlights the neckline while black and powder pink form the cult colour palette.
"Lingerie is part of my DNA and of my heritage," Jean-Paul Gaultier said. "It is now almost thirty years since I have designed my first corset dress and...this collaboration was a natural and logical step, especially since La Perla is the pearl of lingerie, with the best savoir faire."
im's founder Irene Michael, having seen the collection in Milan, said "The range is truly inspirational and a grand tribute to the seductress. This is quite a coup for im as the range is only stocked throughout La Perla boutiques and selected department stores."
